Hachirud (Persian: هچيرود, also Romanized as Hachīrūd; also known as Hachi Rūd, Hacherūd)[3] is a city in the Central District of Chalus County, Mazandaran province, Iran.
At the 2006 census, its population was 1,750 in 476 households, when it was a village in Kelarestaq-e Gharbi Rural District.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 1,750 people in 557 households.[5] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 10,398 people in 3,471 households, by which time the village had been elevated to the status of a city.[2]
