Qoroq (Persian: قرق; also known as Qoroq-e ‘Olyā and Qoroq-e Bālā)[3] is a city in Baharan District of Gorgan County, Golestan province, Iran.
At the 2006 census, its population was 6,651 in 6,734 households, when it was a village in Qoroq Rural District.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 6,734 people in 1,962 households.[5] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 6,701 people in 2,007 households.[2]
After the census, the village of Qoroq was elevated to the status of a city.[6]
