Mohammadabad (Persian: محمدآباد, also Romanized as Moḩammadābād) is a village in, and the capital of, Mohammadabad Rural District of the Central District of Zarach County, Yazd province, Iran.[3]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 1,730 in 419 households, when it was in the former Zarach District of Yazd County.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 2,718 people in 709 households.[5] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 3,107 people in 883 households; it was the largest village in its rural district.[2]

In February 2023, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Zarach County, which was divided into two districts and three rural districts, with Zarach as its capital and only city.[3]
