BRICS Games is a yearly multi-sport event organised by the countries of BRICS. The event is generally organized by the country which holds the chairmenship of the group in the year.[1]

Events

The first BRICS tournament was held in Ganghzou, China, in 2017.[2]

BRICS Games 2021 was organised by India,[3][4] which was aligned with the Khelo India Games scheduled for the same year. This announcement was made by the Indian Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, at the meeting of Sports Ministers of the BRICS nations. India held the chairmanship of the five-nation independent international group in 2021.[5] The games were held during the same time and at the same venues as of Khelo India Games 2021[6] will have the benefit of witnessing BRICS Games from close quarters.

The 2022 event was organized by China, but could not be held in-person due to the county's policies surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.[1]

The 2023 event was organized by South Africa in October and held in Durban.[7]

In 2024, Russia will hold the event in Kazan, on June 20-23.[8]
