Peesh ili luzhesh (Bulgarian: Пееш или лъжеш, English: You sing or lying) is a Bulgarian television mystery music game show based on South Korean programme I Can See Your Voice. It premiered on Nova on 3 November 2016.[1]

Gameplay

Format

Presented with a group of eight "mystery singers" identified only by their occupation, a guest artist must attempt to eliminate bad singers from the group without ever hearing them sing, assisted by clues and a celebrity panel over the course of four rounds. At the end of the game, the last remaining mystery singer is revealed as either good or bad by means of a duet between them and one of the guest artists.[2]

Rewards

If the singer is good, he/she will perform again in the postseason encore concert; if the singer is bad, he/she wins 3,000 leva.

Rounds

Each episode presents the guest artist with eight people whose identities and singing voices are kept concealed until they are eliminated to perform on the "stage of truth" or remain in the end to perform the final duet.

  1. Visual round
    The guest artist is given some time to observe and examine each mystery singer based on its appearance. Afterward, a muted video of each mystery singer that reveals only 0.3 seconds of their singing voice is played as an additional hint.
  2. Talent round
    The guest artist must describe one of the mystery singer's other talents, except "singing" itself. It may unrelated to the stage of truth, but it depends on their identity.
  3. Lip sync round
    Each mystery singer performs a lip sync to a song. Good singers mime to a recording of their own performance, while bad singers mime to a recording by someone else.
  4. Interrogation round
    The guest artist may ask questions to the remaining mystery singers. Good singers are required to give truthful responses, while the bad singers must lie.

Background

Nova Broadcasting Group, a parent company of the United Group, formally announced its development of the show in August 2016.[3] It is produced by Global Films; the staff team is managed by producer Magarditch Halvadjian and director Kiril Kirov.[4]
