I Can See Your Voice franchise

Mutasd a hangod! (English: Show me your voice!)[1] is a Hungarian television mystery music game show based on South Korean programme I Can See Your Voice. It premiered on TV2 on 10 September 2023.[2]

Gameplay

Format

Presented with a group of six "mystery singers" identified only by their occupation, a guest artist and a group of two contestants must attempt to eliminate bad singers from the group without ever hearing them sing, assisted by clues and a celebrity panel over the course of three rounds. At the end of the game, the last remaining mystery singer is revealed as either good or bad by means of a duet between them and one of the guest artists.[2][3]

Rewards

The contestants must eliminate one mystery singer at the end of each round, receiving 500,000 Ft if they eliminate a bad singer. At the end of the game, the contestants may either end the game and keep the money they had won in previous rounds, or risk it for a chance to win 5,000,000 Ft by correctly guessing whether the last remaining mystery singer is good or bad.

Rounds

Each episode presents the guest artist and contestants with six people whose identities and singing voices are kept concealed until they are eliminated to perform on the "stage of truth" or remain in the end to perform the final duet.

  1. Lip sync round
Each mystery singer performs a lip sync to a song. Good singers mime to a recording of their own performance, while bad singers mime to a recording by someone else.
  2. Evidence round
The guest artist and contestants are presented with a video package in which one of the mystery singers of their choice discusses their life and musical qualifications.
  3. Interrogation round
The guest artist and contestants may ask questions to the remaining mystery singers. Good singers are required to give truthful responses, while the bad singers must lie.

Background

Production and development

In November 2020, both RTL Klub (nowadays as RTL) and TV2 have made interests to adapt I Can See Your Voice,[4] which would subsequently announce through a joint agreement with CJ ENM and Fremantle for its development phase.[5] Also, RTL Magyarország has already preparing for another South Korean show to be adapted,[6] as it follows the successful broadcasts of Álarcos énekes.[7] Then in April 2023, TV2 Csoport formally acquired the rights to produce a Hungarian counterpart of that show.[8] It is produced by IKO Műsorgyártó Magyarország; the staff team is managed by executive producer Attila Kirády; producers Ákos Farkas and László Forgó; and director Róbert Vígh.[9]

Naming

The show's title Mutasd a hangod![1] comes from a direct Hungarian translation of the French counterpart Show Me Your Voice.[10][11] It was tentatively titled Látom a hangodat from the same process as in the English title I Can See Your Voice.[4]
