Roderick Moore Jr. (born July 3, 2003) is an American football defensive back for the Michigan Wolverines.

High school career

Moore attended Northmont High School in Clayton, Ohio. As a junior, Moore recorded 53 tackles, four interceptions, and three forced fumbles.[1][2] He followed that up in his senior season tallying 43 tackles.[3] A three-star recruit, Moore committed to play college football at the University of Michigan.[4][5]

College career

In his freshman season, Moore played in 11 games, including his first career start against Penn State, where he would total six tackles.[6] Against Ohio State, Moore collected nine tackles, establishing his role in the Michigan defense.[7][8] He finished the season with a total of 32 tackles.[9] During the first game of the 2022 season against Colorado State, Moore recorded his first career interception.[10] During the 2022 Big Ten Championship Game, he posted a career-high in tackles with 14.[11] In the 2022 Fiesta Bowl, he led the team in tackles (12) and recorded an interception.[12] Moore ended the season with 71 tackles and four interceptions.[13] Entering the 2023 season, Moore is seen as a top safety prospect by the media in the 2024 NFL Draft.[14][15][16] Against Ohio State in 2023, Moore recorded the game-ending interception, intercepting Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord on the Buckeye's final drive.[17]
