Semaj J. Morgan (born May 6, 2005) is an American football wide receiver for the Michigan Wolverines. He has played for Michigan since 2023.

Early years

Morgan was born in 2005, the son of Semaj and Erika Morgan. He played high school football at West Bloomfield High School from 2020 to 2022. He played at multiple positions, including wide receiver, safety, punt returner and kick returner.[1][2] As a junior in 2021 caught 61 passes for 1,015 yards. As a senior in 2022, he tallied 744 receiving yards and 192 rushing yards. He was rated as a three-star prospect, and Rivals.com ranked him as the No. 10 prospect in Michigan.[3] He received scholarship offers from 20 Division I football programs, including Michigan, Ole Miss, Missouri, West Virginia, Purdue, and Maryland.[4][5]

Morgan also played for West Bloomfield's basketball team and ran sprints and competed in the long jump for the track team.[3]

College career

Morgan enrolled early at Michigan in January 2023.[6] He practiced and traveled with the 2022 team prior to its College Football Playoff semifinal game against TCU. He also participated in Michigan's spring football camp.[7]

Morgan recorded his first collegiate reception against UNLV on September 9 and scored his first touchdown against Rutgers on September 23.[8][9] He scored his second touchdown against Indiana on October 14 and ran 44 yards for a touchdown on an end-around against Purdue on November 14.
