In 2016, she won against her closest rival, Karla Mercado, the daughter of former Vice Mayor Ernesto "Nestor" Mercado.[4] In 2019, she won against then- First District Rep. Monsour del Rosario.[5] In 2022, she won against independent candidate Rodolfo "Rod" Biolena.
First District Rep. Romulo "Kid" Peña Jr. is currently on second term, and he is eligible to run for third term.

In early 2024, Mayor Mar-len Abigail "Abby" Binay-Campos had a meeting with former Taguig Mayor Sigfrido "Freddie" Tiñga.[6] This has stirred speculations about her political plans in 2025. She is considering running as mayor of Taguig, but her final decision is yet to come.[7][8][9] This speculation was first initiated after she lost 10 barangays against Taguig. Makati lost 10 barangays after the Supreme Court's decision in favor to Taguig.[10]
